How to Draw a Dabbing Dog

This simple step-by-step tutorial will show you how to draw a dabbing dog – a cartoon meme dog with its signature pose.

The dabbing dog is drawn in a cartoon style, and its most recognizable feature is its distinctive arm movement and overall pose. That’s exactly what we’re going to show in this drawing tutorial.

How to draw a dabbing dog step by step

Step 1: Sketch two rounded shapes

Start by drawing two rounded shapes in the center of the paper. The upper shape is much larger than the lower one. Notice the slight tilt of the entire figure. These shapes should not be perfectly straight or symmetrical.

Step 2: Outline the dancing limbs

Choose a dynamic pose for the dog that resembles a dance. The cartoon style eliminates the need to draw complex anatomical details such as joints or muscles. Keep all the curves smooth, and gradually narrow the limbs toward the paws.

Step 3: Add the dabbing dog’s toes

Draw three rounded toes while outlining the dog paws. Pay attention to their shape, size, and position in relation to one another. The toes may look different depending on the angle. This is especially noticeable on the dog’s upper paws.

Step 4: Draw the dog’s ears

Move to the head and draw the dabbing dog’s ears. You can change their shape to your liking. Add large drooping ears or short upright ears, depending on the look you want. Use the outlines of the head and upper legs as guides.

Erase all the construction lines that extend past the final outlines of your dog drawing.
