How to Draw a Loon

Welcome to a new tutorial about how to draw a loon. It is a kind of waterfowl inhabiting the north of Europe, Asia and America.

Step 1

Draw two narrow ovals – large and small, this will be the head and torso of our loon. Connect them with a curved line of neck.

Step 2

Sketch out a beak, a tail and thicken the neck using one more line below the line from the previous step.

Step 3

Connect the details of the drawing with a smooth contour. Draw the eye and circle waves on the water.

Step 4

Using clear and smooth lines draw out the loon drawing. Erase all unnecessary guidelines and proceed to hatching.

Step 5

Now draw short lines on the wings and long lines on the neck. Next, using hatching add shadows.
