How to Draw Scorpion from Marvel

Kind time of the day, dear artists and comic book lovers! In this drawing lesson we’ll show you how to draw Scorpion from Marvel Comics.

 In the Marvel Universe there are many versions of Scorpion, but this villain became famous in The Amazing Spider-Man # 19 (1964).

 

Step 1

First of all we sketch out the skeleton of our villain. It is quite ordinary and consists of a head, drawn in the form of an oval, lines of the spine, arms and legs, chest and pelvis. Use light lines when drawing the skeleton.

Step 2

In order to draw facial features we need to first draw the lines of symmetry of the face. As always – a vertical line as the center of the face and a horizontal line for the eyes. Sketch out the torso that tapers closer to the waist.

Step 3

Let’s get to the limbs. First sketch out the deltoids in the form of circles. Then draw the arms with the help with simple geometric shapes. Next draw the hands. Sketch out the groin and legs using simple geometric figures.

Step 4

Now draw out the eyes on the horizontal line. Above the eyes sketch out the frown eyebrows. Below the eyes sketch out the nose and mouth with clenched teeth. Add some wrinkles to the face and move to the next step.

Step 5

Continue drawing the head of Scorpion. Draw out the contours of the head, forming the lines of the cheekbones and chin. Next draw out the opening for the eyes and add some wrinkles around the mouth.

Step 6

Draw the torso of our villain Scorpion with the help of thick and clear lines. Draw lines of chest, abdominal muscles and oblique abdominal muscles. Also do not forget to erase all the extra lines from the torso.

Step 7

Step 8

Now proceed to the legs of our Scorpion. Carefully draw out the legs and tail using thick and clear lines. Erase all the remaining extra lines. Do not forget to draw lines of muscles, knees and add a couple of folds on the legs.

Step 9

As in the lessons about the Iron Man, Hulk and other comic book characters, shadows should be dark and very contrasting. To add lighter shadows, use hatching. In the same step we draw the details of the costume, such as shorts and transverse lines.
