How to Draw a Kitty Cat
In this guide, we are going to tell you how to draw a kitty cat. This will be a very simple tutorial that can be adapted for all skill levels.
In fact, this is not the first, and certainly not the last cat drawn on the pages of Drawingforall.net. We have already shown how to draw cats, both realistic and cartoon cats.
This drawing tutorial on how to draw a kitty cat will be very simple because there will not be too complex details or shadows.
As in many other drawing guides, the first steps will be especially important here, in which we will draw the basic outlines of the body of our cat.
Step 1
Do you know what a child and a kitty cat have in common? They both have special body proportions. A baby’s head is disproportionately large, just like a kitten’s. In addition to the head, we see two more rounded shapes that form the contours of the body, let’s draw this.
Step 2
So, we continue the guide on how to draw a kitty cat. Adult cats have long graceful legs. This is not surprising, because cats are very fast and flexible guys. But kittens are not so flexible and fast due to the fact that their legs are small and round. Therefore, in this step, we will draw the paws, which look like small rounded short shapes.
Step 3
Every part of the kittens’ body makes them even cuter. Eared kittens are wonderful, aren’t they? In this step, we will draw a rounded vertical outline of the tail and a pair of ears that look like regular triangles.
Step 4
Now let’s add eyes to our kitty cat drawing. As you can see, the eyes are significantly displaced towards the lower edge of the head. The eyes of our kitten look like large, rounded figures, located slightly at an angle. Another feature of our kitten is the presence of large rounded pupils.
Step 5
Now is the time to draw the lower part of our kitten’s face. To do this, we will draw a shape that looks like a small mushroom. We also add a couple of additional oval shapes in this area. These shapes represent the kitten’s nose and cheeks.
Step 6
So, at the moment we have a rough sketch of this cute kitten. Therefore, in this step, we will move on to creating smaller details. Let’s start by drawing the inside of the kitten’s ears. We won’t be able to draw all the hair that covers the kitten’s body, but with the help of small short strokes we will sketch out small areas of this hair.
Step 7
We continue to add small details. In this step, we will draw rounded short toes. As you can see, the fingers seem to protrude slightly forward. To achieve this effect, draw small horizontal lines at the top of each finger.
Step 8
So, we are very close to completing this guide on how to draw a kitty cat. In this step, we will simply erase all the extra construction lines that we used in the previous steps. In addition, we will draw a pencil around the shape of the kitten, its eyes, and other parts of the body. At this stage, you need to press harder on the pencil. Using short strokes, we create a soft fur effect on the kitten’s belly, ears, and chest.
Step 9
If we work with the eyes a little more, then our kitten drawing will look much more realistic and lively. To achieve this effect, paint over the pupils using dense one-layer shading and be sure to leave some space for highlights, as in our sample. Also, add shading to other parts of the kitten’s body.
Step 10
If you followed the sequence of steps correctly, then you will get something like the kitty cat drawing created by the artists of Drawingforall.net.
