How to Draw a Sewing Machine

As we have repeatedly written on the pages of Drawingforall.net, we really want to show how to draw a variety of objects, because a true artist should be able to draw almost everything.
And here our collection of guides will be supplemented with a tutorial on how to draw a sewing machine.
How to draw a sewing machine step by step
Step 1: Block in the sewing machine shape
First of all, create the main outlines of the sewing machine using very light and rough lines. Draw the upper part, the vertical section, and the wide base with simple contours. At this stage, do not try to make the lines perfectly clear. Keep them as light as possible.

Step 2: Add the main details
Now add some important details, continuing to use light and rough lines. Draw the needle, the necessary switches and controls, and the small feet under the sewing machine. The drawing should now look much more recognizable, but the lines should still remain light.

Step 3: Refine the contours
This step will be quite extensive because we will work over the entire sewing machine drawing. Darken the main lines and make them clear and smooth. Carefully refine the contours of the body, needle area, and controls. At the same time, erase all unnecessary guidelines to give the drawing a finished look.

Step 4: Add shadows and highlights
Shadows and highlights will make the sewing machine drawing more realistic. First, determine where the light comes from and add shadows to the opposite areas. Use light hatching on the body and smaller details. In addition, you can add extra details or color to make the drawing look more dimensional.

As already mentioned in the introduction to this tutorial, we have a variety of tutorials on many different topics.
