Finished chibi Kylo Ren drawing with mask, cloak, and crossguard lightsaber.

Star Wars has been around for decades and includes many memorable characters that are fun to draw. In this tutorial, we will show you how to draw chibi Kylo Ren by simplifying the shapes of his costume.

How to draw chibi Kylo Ren step by step

Step 1: Sketch the large head

First, draw Kylo Ren’s large rounded head. Add a vertical guideline through the center of the face to help place the mask symmetrically. This line will be erased later.

Step 2: Block in the simplified body

Using very light lines, sketch the small torso, arms, and legs beneath the head. Keep the body small so the oversized head remains the dominant form.

Step 3: Add the hood and cloak

Like any other character drawn in the chibi style, Kylo Ren keeps all of his most recognizable features. The mask and distinctive crossguard lightsaber are the main elements that define his look, and you will find them in the full-sized versions of the character as well.

Try drawing the character in a slightly different pose or study his appearance in different Star Wars films to see how the mask and costume change.

To continue drawing Star Wars characters, try drawing Darth Vader or drawing the Mandalorian.
