How to Draw Tank T-34

Hello, dear lovers of the fine arts! Today we will learn how to draw a tank. This drawing lesson is not very complicated, but it requires the exact observance of the proportions. And for example we took one of the most famous Soviet tanks of the Second World War. So, as you have guessed, today we will show you how to draw tank T-34.

 

Step 1

W start drawing with the tower and the barrel. We start drawing with the tower and the barrel. We usually start with stikmen, but here we are not talking about a person, and we prefer to draw the tank top down, piece by piece. And we’ll start with the top of the tank – nothing fancy, just copy from our sample and move on. Draw the tower as an oval, draw barrel by two parallel lines.

Step 2

We outline the tank body and chassis – tank tracks. This and the previous steps are necessary to draw by very light strokes to subsequently been easier to erase all guiding lines.

Step 3

It’s time to add some volume and details. We outline a couple of rounded lines on the sides with respect to the barrel, add a hatch and a couple of lines on the top of the tank. Gradually erase all unnecessary guidelines.

Step 4

Erase extra guidelines from the tower of the tank. Draw the barrel of our tank T-34, and add a few more details, such as the handle on the side of the tower and a hole next to the barrel..

Step 5

We outline the contours of the armor (wings), which cover the chassis. Note that all the lines of this step should be straight. On the front side on the tracks we can see small rectangular shapes – parallelograms, which are formed by a slight bend of the wings down.

Step 6

Draw some more rounded parts at the front of the tank, to be exact – a machine gun on the left and the headlamp on the right . We also denote the square hatch and rectangular bar at the front.

Step 7

We outline the road wheels. Note, that the outside wheels should be much smaller than the others. In the same step circle all strokes drawn earlier. Also we erase markup from the previous steps to the tank drawing began to look complete.

Step 8

We are slowly approaching to the last step of our drawing tutorial on how to draw T-34 tank. Now draw wheels and texture of the outer parts of the tank tracks.

Step 9

At the last stage we add shadows to our tank t-34. The shadows are quite simple – a considerable parts of the shadows look like black contrasting spots. The shadows, that are lighter, applied by usual hatching.
