How to Draw a Wakizashi

Hello dear readers and welcome to drawing tutorial on how to draw wakizashi step by step. As you know it is a short traditional Japanese sword. It was mostly used by samurai and was worn on the belt. He was worn paired with a katana.

Step 1

At first draw a curved line as an upper edge for the blade.

Step 2

Now using another curved line draw the lower edge and connect them as in our example.

Step 3

Sketch out the pommel and guard  using an oval.

Step 4

Draw the sharpening line and collar that located near the guard.

Step 5

Use intersecting lines to draw wrap on the grip.

Step 6

Paint out the grip and add shadows and glare with short strokes.
