How to Draw a Hockey Stick

Simple sports equipment is very easy to draw, which in turn makes it useful for drawing practice. Here we will show you how to draw a hockey stick using very simple line drawing techniques.
How to draw a hockey stick step by step
Step 1: Draw the first line of the hockey stick
First of all, draw a long, straight diagonal line. The angle of this line will determine the angle of the entire hockey stick. Decide on its length right away, comparing it with our illustration or your reference. Try to draw this line without using a ruler.

Step 2: Give the shaft its thickness
Now draw another straight line parallel to the one from the previous step. Keep the distance between them even along the entire length of the shaft. At the very top, connect these two lines with a short, slightly curved line.

Step 3: Draw the curved blade
Now connect these two lines at the lower end, extending them into the curved blade of the hockey stick. Round off the outer end, known as the toe, as shown in our example.

As we have seen, a hockey stick is very easy to draw, especially if you do not add too many details and elements.
Its basic shape is essentially a long stick with a slightly widening, curved end at the bottom. The main difficulty here is drawing both long lines perfectly parallel to each other, maintaining the correct proportions of the two parts, and accurately depicting the angle of the lower part in relation to the shaft.
Now that you know how to draw a hockey stick, you can draw a hockey player holding it. Study our tutorial on how to draw a hockey puck to learn how to depict another element associated with this game, and then draw a hockey player with a stick in his hands and a puck in front of him.
