How to Draw a Gorilla

In this tutorial we’ll show you how to draw a gorilla. In one of the previous lessons we have already shown you how to draw the most famous gorilla in the history of cinema – King Kong. The structure of this lesson will be similar to the structure of the lesson about King Kong.

 

Step 1

First of all sketch out the head in the form of a large oval. Next, outline the torso, pelvis and limbs, using very light lines.

Step 2

Sketch out the muzzle and a line for the eyes. Add the volume to the body of the gorilla with simple geometric shapes, as in our example.

Step 3

Now let’s take care of the details. Sketch out the eyes, the brow ridges, the nostrils and the mouth.

Step 4

Using clear and dark lines carefully draw out the outlines of the head and facial features of the gorilla.

Step 5

Carefully draw huge arms. Using short lines create a texture of the hair on the arms. Pay special attention to the palms of our gorilla.

Step 6

Draw out the huge pectoral muscles and huge abdomen. Carefully draw the hind legs and also use short strokes to draw the texture of the hair.

Step 7

Paint the eyes black. Next, using hatching add shadows to the body of the gorilla.
