How to draw a cartoon mustache step by step
Step 1: Sketch the guidelines
Draw a wide rectangle to help keep the cartoon mustache symmetrical. Add a straight vertical line through the center, dividing the rectangle into two equal halves.

Step 2: Outline the top edge
Starting slightly above the center of the vertical guideline, draw the upper edge of the mustache. Curve the lines upward until they touch the top guideline, then smoothly curve them downward and back up toward the side guidelines.

Step 3: Draw the lower edge
Starting near the middle of the vertical construction line, draw two smooth curved lines that extend outward and downward. Let each line touch the lower guideline, then curve upward toward the side guidelines.

Step 4: Erase the guides
Erase all the construction lines you sketched in the previous steps. You should be left with a clean outline of the cartoon mustache. Make sure the left and right sides are as symmetrical as possible.

Step 5: Finish the mustache
Cartoon mustaches rarely have detailed texture. They are usually filled with a solid color. Simply color the entire shape black, brown, blond, or any other shade that fits your character.

In practice, cartoon mustaches are rarely drawn with all these construction lines. For now, the main goal is to remember how the lines are arranged.
Later, you will not need to draw every guide on the paper, since you will be able to keep them in mind as you work. Once you understand these principles, you can add simple facial hair like this when you draw a cartoon face.
