We have prepared a very simple step-by-step tutorial, where will show you how to draw Ike Broflovski from South Park.

All characters in South Park (for example Eric Cartman) are drawn in a very simple and recognizable way. But Ike Broflovski in this famous series has a special appearance.

As you can see, this tutorial is very simple. So, grab pencils, paper, and an eraser to start the lesson and learn how to sketch Ike Broflovski.

How to draw Ike From South Park step by step

Step 1: Outline the egg-like shape of the head

Sketch the head of the South Park character in the shape of an egg. Try to keep the lines very light so you can easily make corrections later. To check the proportions, look at your drawing through a mirror – this will help you spot any asymmetry or mistakes. Also, keep in mind that Ike’s head should look slightly wider at the bottom.

Step 2: Mark the torso and facial guidelines

Draw the torso of Ike Broflovski as a small rectangle located directly under the head from the previous step. Then, add a vertical line for facial symmetry. Just below the center of the head, draw a long horizontal line for the mouth, and slightly above it, mark the lines for the nose and eyes. Ensure that the torso is smaller compared to the head to convey the simplified cartoon proportions typical for South Park characters.

Step 3: Draw the arms and legs of Ike Broflovski

Lightly sketch the arms and legs using simple lines and ovals. The arms should extend from the top sides of the torso and end with small circles for the hands. Give the legs short and simple look, marking simple feet at the ends. Even at this stage, try to convey the shape and overall look of the character.

Step 4: Sketch the pointed hair segments on top

Now, take a darker pencil or pen, and start tracing the character and adding fine details. First, draw the hairstyle using simple lines and angular shapes. Use about 6 points to illustrate the hairstyle of the cartoon character.

Step 5: Draw the facial features of Ike Broflovski

Using the guidelines, draw Ike’s facial features of Ik Broflovski. Start with two small circular eyes placed close together. Below them, add a tiny dot for the nose. Then, trace the curved line for the mouth. Erase any extra guidelines from the Ike drawing.

Step 6: Draw the pajamas with seam and buttons

Draw Ike’s clothing details, starting with the upper part. First, using a straight line, sketch the central seam of his pajamas and add a few small dots to indicate the buttons. After that, trace the torso, arms, and hands using darker lines. Erase the guidelines from the top of the body.

Step 7: Draw the legs and feet of Ike

Erase the remaining construction lines and darken the main contours of the legs and feet. Once the outline looks clear and smooth, you can optionally add color, or indicate simple shadows and highlights. Before finishing, double-check that the head remains the largest part of the figure, as this proportion defines Ike’s recognizable silhouette.

As you can see, Ike Broflovski’s drawing lesson is really simple. Here we used really simple lines and basic geometric shapes.

This lesson was in many ways similar to the tutorial on drawing Eric Cartman, which we studied earlier, but it also has several distinctive features that make Ike stand out among all the South Park characters.

First of all, Ike has a very large mouth that stretches horizontally across most of his face. Secondly, his eyes are drawn as small dots – unlike other characters whose eyes are represented as two large circles with tiny pupils inside. And, of course, there’s his unique way of speaking.

If you’d like to draw a similar character, we recommend checking out our lesson on drawing Stewie Griffin, who also has an unusual head shape and a distinctive design.

Do not forget that we have a whole category called Cartoons, where we publish lessons in drawing characters from well-known and not-so-famous cartoons and animated series.
