How to Draw a Sniper Scope

This step-by-step tutorial on how to draw a sniper scope will be very useful for anyone who wants to draw weapons accurately.
Weapons have played an important role throughout history. At Drawingforall.net, we have many tutorials on drawing weapons, from swords to machine guns.
Among these tutorials are many rifles and other firearms equipped with sniper sights.
How to draw a sniper scope step by step
Step 1: Sketch the main scope tube
First, sketch a long cylinder that will form the main tube of the sniper scope. The lines at this stage should be light so that you can easily make corrections and remove unwanted parts.

Step 2: Add the mounts and housing
Narrow the middle part of the tube, then draw two blocks in the center. These blocks will attach the sniper scope to the weapon. Draw these details with very light lines as well.

Step 3: Refine the scope details
Use an eraser to remove all unnecessary guidelines from the sniper scope drawing. Trace the remaining lines to make the sketch dark and clean. Add the adjustment turret and draw the lens at the front of the scope.

Step 4: Add shadows and lens highlights
Make the scope drawing look more three-dimensional by adding shadows to its lower and side surfaces. Add highlights to the lens with a pair of short strokes.

As mentioned above, we have many drawing tutorials about drawing weapons.
These tutorials are especially useful for anyone who wants to create standalone illustrations of weapons or depict them in comics and other artwork.
Many of these weapons can be customized by refining, replacing, or combining individual parts.
For example, this sniper scope drawing tutorial works well with our tutorial on drawing a sniper rifle.
You can also replace the standard sight on the rifle in our Soviet soldier drawing tutorial with a sniper scope using the steps shown here.
