How to Draw Anti-Venom

Using this step-by-step lesson, you will learn how to draw Anti-Venom, the symbiote villain from the Marvel universe.
Anti-Venom closely resembles Venom in appearance, and the drawing process will also be quite similar.
We chose the classic version of this villain from Spider-Man stories and structured the lesson using a standard comic character drawing method, beginning with construction using light lines and finishing with classic comic-style shading.
How to draw Anti-Venom step by step
Step 1: Sketch the comic villain proportions
Begin by sketching the framework of the comic villain, consisting of an oval-shaped head and a body drawn with light lines. At this stage, you need to establish the placement and orientation of the character’s body parts in space, defining the composition and the main proportions.

Step 2: Add volume to torso and arms
After outlining the basic framework, start adding volume to the drawing so that you can develop the details later. For now, indicate the volume using large, general forms without going into specifics. Sketch the broad shoulders and arms with massive shapes, outline the curved contour of the back, and indicate the chin. Also mark the lines of facial symmetry.

Step 3: Draw the legs of Anti-Venom
In the same way, add volume to the legs using strong, powerful forms. Then sketch the feet, keeping linear perspective in mind and remembering that parts closer to the viewer will appear noticeably larger than those positioned farther away.

Step 4: Draw Anti-Venom’s eyes and upper jaw
The main basic proportions, overall form, and primary mass are now established. Next, begin adding details to these general volumes, starting with the head. Using the facial symmetry lines, draw the eyes of Anti-Venom without adding pupils. Around the eyes, indicate wrinkles and sketch the general outline of the upper jaw.

Step 5: Sketch the lower jaw and tongue
Now, continuing the facial contours from the previous step, draw the lower jaw of Anti-Venom, extending it significantly downward. Then add the long, twisting tongue – one of the most distinctive features of Venom and Anti-Venom. As you add details, gradually erase the construction lines and refine the shapes and contours of the parts you are working on at the moment.

Step 6: Add the symbiote mask pattern and teeth
Draw a row of sharp teeth on the upper and lower jaws of Anti-Venom using triangles of roughly equal size. Then depict the pattern on the mask around the eyes, trying to apply it as symmetrically as possible. Keep in mind that this pattern lies on the three-dimensional surface of the head, so the design should curve accordingly to follow the form.

Step 7: Refine the symbiote torso muscles and arms
Now use darker, more defined lines to refine the muscular structure of the torso and arms in detail. Outline the muscles of the shoulders, biceps, triceps, and forearms. Gradually remove the construction lines that are no longer part of the final drawing.

Step 8: Detail the hands and web
Draw the hands clenched into fists, holding the web. Carefully refine the visible fingers. Next, draw the outline of the web, allowing it to gradually widen as it moves closer to the viewer due to linear perspective. Then add the web texture around it with smooth lines wrapping around the main strand.

Step 9: Refine the villain’s legs
Give the legs a cleaner and more finished appearance by outlining and refining their contours and details. Remember that in comics, artists do not render every element in full detail, but instead choose which details are most important to show.

Step 10: Draw the Anti-Venom spider symbol
One of the most distinctive elements of Anti-Venom’s appearance, aside from his sharp teeth and long tongue, is the spider symbol on his chest and back. In the pose shown in our drawing, only the part on his back is visible. Draw this visible portion of the spider emblem, remembering that the back is a three-dimensional form, so the symbol of Anti-Venom should wrap around it accordingly.

Step 11: Outline the drawing and add shadows
Now, using a darker pencil, liner, or ink, outline the entire Anti-Venom drawing with bold, clean lines, varying their thickness according to the principles of atmospheric perspective. Then define the shadow areas and fill them with black, creating transitions and halftones using clear, even hatching.

Drawing characters in a comic style is ultimately based on the fundamentals of human anatomy and the core principles of drawing.
At the same time, like any distinct direction within visual art, it has its own nuances. Clear outlines, strong contrast in shadows, sometimes exaggerated forms, and selectively simplified details are all elements that make the comic style recognizable and distinct.
All of these aspects were demonstrated in this Anti-Venom drawing lesson, where we clearly showed how artists build a final image and which steps are required to achieve it.
The same steps were used to show you how to draw Venom, this time depicting the character in a different pose.
The same approach was also used to draw Spider-Man and can be applied to portraying virtually any other superhero or villain.

This is brilliant!!!!!!
thanks
I need the head only not him swinging from a web I’m not that skilled of a drawler
