How to Draw a Monitor

In one of our old drawing tutorials, we showed how to draw a TV, and in this similar tutorial we will show how to draw a monitor.
Indeed, these two objects are very similar and serve similar purposes. But despite all the similarities, they have some important differences that will be taken into account in this monitor drawing tutorial.
How to draw a monitor step by step
Step 1: Sketch the monitor outline
Start drawing the monitor with its most important part, the outer outline of the screen. Using straight lines, which of course can be drawn with a ruler, although we advise you to try without one, sketch a large horizontal rectangle.

Step 2: Draw the monitor screen
Now turn this simple rectangle into something more like a computer monitor. Draw another rectangle inside the one outlined in the first step to form the screen and frame. In addition, mark the side edge of the monitor with one long and two short lines.

Step 3: Add the monitor stand
Now draw a stand under the computer monitor. This part can have various shapes, so you can draw a simple stand like this one or create your own design. In addition, you can draw buttons on the bottom or side panel of the monitor.

Step 4: Shade the computer monitor
In the final step, add highlights and shadows to give the monitor drawing more volume and realism. First, draw two long light highlights across the screen. Next, use hatching to add shadows along the side of the monitor and around the stand.

The team of Drawingforall.net believes that this tutorial is simple enough even for a beginner artist to learn how to draw a monitor. For more practice with similar electronic devices, you can also try drawing a system unit or drawing a Macintosh computer.
