How to Draw a Ferrari 488

The Ferrari 488 is one of the most beautiful Italian sports cars in terms of design, in our opinion. In this tutorial, we will show you how to draw a Ferrari 488 at a slight angle and depict the characteristic elements of its body with simple lines.

This tutorial follows the basic method of drawing a Ferrari but adds the specific elements and details that will show the viewer that this is a 488 model.

How to draw a Ferrari 488 step by step

Step 1: Sketch the Ferrari 488 body

The first thing we need to do is outline the Ferrari body. Use smooth, light lines. Recall that you should try not to press too hard on the pencil.

Step 2: Add the headlights, bumper, and wheels

Add some details to the 488 body. At the front, draw the headlights and bumper. In the same step, sketch out the wheels of our sports car. Use light lines here as well.

Step 3: Sketch the windows and wheel arches

Sketch out the outlines of the narrow Ferrari windows and side mirrors. Next, outline the wheel arches and add thickness to the wheels. Starting with step four, we will use darker lines.

Step 4: Refine the front grille and headlights

Let’s start refining the Ferrari 488 using darker lines. Outline the bumper, hood, headlights, and front grille. Draw the lower edge of the bumper and add the vertical dividers inside the large front grille. Erase unnecessary guidelines from the front of our supercar.

Step 5: Draw the low roof and windows

We continue to refine the body of the Ferrari. Continuing the lines of the hood, carefully draw the low roof that flows smoothly into the rear. Next, draw the narrow side windows and refine the side mirror.

Step 6: Draw the door and side intake

Carefully draw the door, handle, and side air intake. Also draw the long lower body line that runs beneath the door and forms the side sill. Erase all unnecessary guidelines from the side of the sports car.

Step 7: Refine the wheels and arches

Now we need to be very attentive. With smooth, dark lines, trace the wheels and the outlines of the wheel arches. Erase all remaining unnecessary guidelines from the 488 drawing.

Step 8: Draw the five-spoke rims

To draw the rims correctly, first outline the central part of each rim. Draw the inner edges of the rims inside the tires. Next, draw the spokes extending from the center toward the outer edges of the rims. In our example, each rim has five spokes. Also add the small Ferrari badge to the front part of the hood.
