How to Draw a Sphingidae

Hello everyone and welcome to the drawing lesson about how to draw a sphingidae step by step.

Step 1

Draw the head, chest and abdomen of the sphingidae, outline two pairs of long wings. Since this is an outlines, do not try to make too correct lines.

Step 2

A very simple step in which we need to sketch out the eyes, the antennae and draw the wings.

Step 3

We erase the auxiliary lines and make the drawing more clear and smooth. Note that the wings of the sphingidae are slightly curved. Mark the vertical stripes on the abdomen.

Step 4

In order to make the drawing more correct and beautiful, let’s add hatching, as shown in our example.

If you did everything right, then you will get such a sphingidae which looks a bit like a butterfly.
