How to Draw a Lamborghini Aventador

Finished Lamborghini Aventador drawing with angular details and hatched shadows.

Speed, style, and luxury are all combined in the Lamborghini Aventador. This sports car has been produced since 2011 and replaced the legendary Lamborghini Murciélago. The team of Drawingforall.net believes that we are simply obliged to show you how to draw a Lamborghini Aventador, since we consider the design of this car to be in many ways a work of art.

Here we will gradually move from the large overall shape of the body to the general elements and smaller details of the sports car, following the principles of drawing a Lamborghini as well as the basic drawing process used in classical art.

How to draw a Lamborghini Aventador step by step

Step 1: Sketch the Aventador body

The body of this sports car has the low and wide shape characteristic of many Lamborghini models. In the first step, sketch out the very low and wide body of the Aventador using very light lines. The upper contour should rise smoothly from the hood toward the roof and descend toward the rear. Note that the angle between the hood and the windshield should be minimal.

Step 2: Add the angular headlights and wheels

To make your sketch look more like a Lamborghini Aventador, add the basic details. First, sketch the characteristic angular headlights. Next, sketch the outlines of the very narrow windows. After that, sketch the angular side mirror and an air intake on the side of the body. Be especially careful when you draw the wheels because they should be smooth and rounded. Place both wheels on the same ground line and compare their axes so that they follow the perspective of the sports car.

Step 3: Detail the Lamborghini body

Sketch out the angular bumper and its air intakes. Using a pair of light, long lines, sketch the outlines of the Aventador windows as in the example below. Next, outline the door, its barely noticeable handle, and the design lines on the side of the body. These long lines divide the side of the Aventador into several large planes. With a pair of semi-ovals, create the outlines of the wheel arches. Next, using a pair of lines, give the wheels more volume and sketch the contours of the rims.

Step 4: Draw the angular front end

The basic sketch of the Lamborghini is complete, and starting with step four, we will draw the final details of the car. With clear and dark lines, carefully draw the details of the Aventador’s bumper, headlights, and hood. Follow the angular planes of the hood and front bumper, and make the lines converge toward the front of the car according to perspective. Draw the Lamborghini logo and remove the guidelines.

Step 5: Draw the low roof and windows

Now let’s move on to the top of our supercar. With confident and precise hand movements, draw the outlines of the roof, windows, and mirror. Follow the long arc of the Aventador’s roof and make the window frames correspond to the same perspective direction as the rest of the body. To make the drawing cleaner, remove unnecessary guidelines from the top of the sports car. For this task, use clear and dark lines.

Step 6: Draw the side air intakes

Here we will finish drawing the body of the Lamborghini Aventador. First, draw the long design lines along the side of the body. Next, draw the door and the details of the air intakes. Pay attention to the sharp changes in direction around the side intake. These lines describe the transitions between the different planes of the Aventador’s body. Before you start drawing the wheels, remove all the remaining guidelines that we drew in the first three steps.

Step 7: Draw the rims and low-profile wheels

To draw the wheels, first carefully trace their contours and the outlines of the rims, then draw the spokes. Draw the spokes outward from the center of each wheel and adjust their visible direction to the plane of the rim. Note that the Lamborghini wheels should be very large and wide, while the tire sidewalls should be very low.

Step 8: Add shadows to the supercar

The Lamborghini Aventador drawing is almost complete, and to make the supercar more realistic, let’s add some shadows. Using hatching, add shadows to the least illuminated areas. Pay special attention to the areas inside the Aventador’s air intakes, under the wheel arches, and to the cast shadow under the car. Make the recessed air intakes noticeably darker than the surrounding body planes. Use lighter hatching suggest the highlights and reflections on the windows.

If you are a fan of sports cars, then you will certainly love the Aventador. The exterior, interior, engine performance, and many other aspects of this Lamborghini were developed to a very high standard.

And now, with the help of our drawing tutorial, you have become a little closer to those who created the design of this sports car, because any car, including this one, begins with a sketch on a piece of paper or a drawing tablet.
