How to Draw Usagi Yojimbo

Miyamoto Usagi Yojimbo is a character of comic book Usagi Yojimbo. This is an anthropomorphic white rabbit-ronin living in a world similar to that of the 17th century Japan. And as you can see, today we will show you how to draw Usagi Yojimbo.

 

Step 1

Let’s start with the skeleton of our rabbit-samurai, which will be drawn almost like a skeleton of an ordinary person. First of all we sketch out a big round head. Next, we sketch out the spine with the chest and pelvis. The first step we will complete by sketching the arms and legs.

Step 2

Now let’s make our samurai more voluminous. First of all, we sketch the lines on the face in order to make it easier for us to draw the details of the face. After that, we sketch out the torso and connect it to the head with the cylinder of the neck. Sketch out arms and legs with simple cylinders and circles.

Step 3

Let’s outline the most basic details of our fighting rabbit. Let us sketch out the details of the face, intersecting lines from the previous step will help us in this. Next we outline long ears on the head. We turn to the body of the rabbit and sketch the outlines of clothing and katana in the hands.

Step 4

Now we have to work with the details of Usagi Yojimbo. Take a darker pencil or marker and carefully circle the outlines of the details of the face. Next, draw the contours of the face and long ears. Remove all the guidelines from the rabbit’s head and proceed to step number five.

Step 5

In this step we will work with the details of the upper body. With clear and dark lines, let’s draw the outlines of the torso and arms. In the same step we circle the hands and katana. Remove unnecessary guidelines from the top of the rabbit-samurai and draw the necessary folds and details.

Step 6

In the last step, we drew the upper part of Usagi Yojimbo, and in this step we will draw the lower part of the body. Here we will need to draw out the contours of the pants with the help of smooth lines. In the same step, draw the legs in traditional shoes and remove all unnecessary guidelines from the drawing of the samurai.
