How to Draw Shocker from Marvel
Our readers very often ask us to create drawing tutorials about one or another character from the comic books, and in the ranking of requests Shocker takes the first place. And so we decided to create a lesson about how to draw Shocker from Marvel comics.
Step 1
Let’s start with the skeleton of our villain. At first we sketch out the head in the form of an oval and a line of the spine below the head. On this line we draw the outlines of the chest and pelvis. With the help of simple lines sketch out the arms and legs.
Step 2
Now let’s add some muscles and meat to the skeleton of Shocker. But first we will outline two lines on the head. After that, sketch out the outlines of the torso and triangular pelvis. Using very simple geometric shapes, we sketch out out the arms and the widely spaced legs.
Step 3
Let’s now add some basic details. First of all sketch out the eyes and lines of the mask on the head. Next sketch out the costume lines on the torso and the belt. On the hands we draw the outlines of the fingers and the “shockers” on the wrists. At the end of the step we will draw the outlines of the shoes on the legs.
Step 4
In the previous steps we used very light lines, since these were preparatory steps. Starting with this step, we will use darker lines. Using such lines draw out the head, torso and arms, taking into account the outlines of the muscles under the clothes. In the same step, we erase all unnecessary guidelines from the upper part of the body.
Step 5
Let’s now do the same thing with the lower part of the body of Shocker. Thus, draw out the outlines of the belt and shorts. Next draw the legs taking into account all the muscles, as shown in our example. At the end of the step, we draw the shoes and remove all unnecessary lines from the lower part of the body.
Step 6
What makes Shocker’s costume so recognizable? Of course, it is intersecting lines on the costume. In this step we will work on drawing these very lines. When you draw them, consider the curves of the body under the clothes so that the drawing does not look too flat.
Step 7
And at the last step we will traditionally add shadows. Here, as you can see, these very shadows are drawn in the style of classic comics, that is, these are large and contrasting areas of shadows. In order to draw shadows as in our example, first draw the outlines of the shadows and then paint them in solid black.
