How to Draw Sandman from Marvel

Sandman is one of the oldest and most famous enemies of Spider-Man. He was in almost all the comics, movies, cartoons and other works about Spider-Man. So, let’s start the lesson about how to draw the Sandman from Marvel.

 

Step 1

Let’s first sketch out the skeleton of our character. First, sketch out the head in the form of an oval. Next, draw a line of the spine, on which we sketch out the chest and pelvis. With the help of simple lines sketch out the arms and legs. Note that it is drawn almost the same way as any other man, except that the skeleton of the Sandman is more chunky and wide.

Step 2

Now, let’s outline two intersecting lines on the head, with which we will later draw the details of the face. Next, sketch out a neck and a wide torso. Step 3

So, starting with this step, we will use clear and dark lines. On the horizontal line, carefully draw out the eyes and eyebrows. Next, draw a nose and grinning mouth. Do not forget to draw out the outlines of the teeth and add a few wrinkles to the face.

Step 4

Now with the help of clear and dark lines carefully draw out the outlines of the angular jaw and the famous hairstyle of Sandman. Next, draw out the ears and remove all unnecessary guidelines from the head of our character.

Step 5

Now let’s move on to the body of our Sandman. With the help of clear and dark lines draw out the shape of the muscles as shown in our example. Draw a hand clenched into a fist and a second hand with crumbling fingers. Next, delete all unnecessary guidelines from the upper body.

Step 6

One of the most recognizable details of Sandman is his famous striped T-shirt, which we will draw now. When you draw a T-shirt, be sure to consider the the muscles under the clothing, so that the drawing look more realistic and voluminous.

Step 7

Now let’s work with the lower body of Sandman. Carefully draw out the outlines of the pants as shown in our example. Next, draw the shoes and delete all unnecessary guidelines from the drawing. Add some folds to the pants and go to the last step of the lesson about how to draw Sandman.

Step 8

The last step by tradition will be devoted to how to draw shadows. The shadows here are drawn like in classic comics – that is, black and contrasting shadows. And in order to draw more light shadows, use dense hatching.
